Own scene textual analysis- Lena meeting Camille

Lena meeting Camille for the first time i) media language used mise-en scene  costume- Lena's costume can be considered more mature and grown up than Camille, she wears a tank top and short denim shorts, more revealing and more adult and shows her clear maturity compared to her sister. Camille wears a t shirt, is more conservative and childlike a it is innocent.  room layout- Camille's room has been untouched since she left so child/young teen looking- bright blue colour with posters of teen interests. Lena's room is darker and has a sense of maturity as well as being distinctly different to Camille's which highlights they have grown apart since Camille's death. camera shots- close ups of both Lena and Camille shows the terror and confusion in their faces as they realise the gravity of the situation and just how different they are now, they are visibly scared and/or uncomfortable this also makes uncomfortable as the camera switches between close ups of their faces...

Les Revenants- audience + Themes

cult tv- niche who it appeals to, underground  what makes a cult show? les revenants is a highly atypical tv program targeting a niche audience. in terms of genre it could b described as supernatural drama, horror, zombie, avante-garde, mystery, or even a paranormal romance. however, les revs is frankly a completely different to zombie shows such as the walking dead and paranormal romance films like twilight. it also breaks the rules of the mystery genre, by presenting many hermaneutic codes to the audience, yet rarely answering any questions. clearly something so niche and potentially frustrating is only going to appeal to a small audience. Yet the small number of people who get this show  are going to love it, and probably wont be able to not talk about it. this is the essence of a cult show. A cult audience is a small yet dedicated audience that absolutely love the media product. if people criticise it, they will defend it. if it gets cancelled, they will beg for it t...

humans: distribution and marketing

marketings is important as a product needs to be marketed towards the tartget audience for them to find it. a product needs to make money for it to survive. "creepiest show on TV" while humans was advertised and marketed using a range of exciting digitally convergent media techniques in order to ensure its cult target audience tuned in, it is important to note that it also made use of traditional forms of marketing too. this front cover from "we love TV" supplement from the working class british tabloid The Daily Mirror is clealy targeting a secondary mainstream, mass market and working class audience. this is confirmed through the casual and informal lexis of the headline and the subheading.  How did distribution and marketing shape Humans? The series was announced in April 2014 as part of a partnership between channel 4 and xbox entertainment studios. however, after microsoft closed xbox entertainment studios, AMC came abroad as partners to channel 4. filming com...
