Key theory 8- femanist theory- lisbet van zoonen

Gender is constructed through discussions and its meaning varies according to cultural and historical context the idea that the display of womens bodies as objects to be looked at is a core element of western patriarchal culture. the idea that in mainstream culture the visual and narrative codes that are used to construct the male body as spectacle differ from those used to objectify the female body.

Sexualisation- making someone overly sexual, a sex centered way of looking at something. To make something person/ object exhibit sexual aspects. to define somebody purely by their percieved physical attractiveness.

Objectification- making someone more into a "thing" or an "object" to be looked at or had. to present somebody as something innaniate or unfeeling, to define somebody purely by their use or function.

Ideology- a system of ideals and beliefs often used to describe the ways in which those in power use their power to distort reality.

the overiding theme of the article has an undertone of over sexualisation of the women in question. firstly the main body of the article makes reference to the physical side of the women as a pose to talking about them as a whole, for example " they're like snow capped volcanoes", this could be about the womens actual personality and how they can seem cold and closed off at first but then are hot and fiery inside, but this can also be interpreted in a more literal manner, about him having the power to undress them, which he is aware that he has the upper hand and can turn girls into superstars if they did what he wanted. this can furthermore be an analogy for womens breasts. to this we can apply the male gaze theory which  implies that womens bodies are ornaments designed to be looked at by men, similar to lisbet van zoonen's frminist theory which denotes that men set the tone and women appear accordingly when convenient, like an add on or extra to the man.

digging deeper into the article, Hitchcock explicitly says that "after selecting, grooming and directing some of the most
