daily mail online, hegemonistic articles

Kate Beckinsale, 46, looks half her age in teeny bikini in Mexico

message- suggesting that her age is important, possibly connoting that its rare for a woman her age to look the way she does, implying that its okay to gaze at her as shes attractive enough for our attention. similarly with the "teeny bikini" its highlighted as its not the norm for your average 46 yr old but its justified by her looking younger than she is.

impact on society- this sends a harmful message out to women, it connotes that people should put in effort to stay at their prime, an unattainable standard to reach. causes women to try harder and spend more money to try and "fix" themselves to fit the mould.

Kylie Jenner gives a glimpse of her toned body while sporting a barely there pink bikini

message- she has the ideal physique and there is a reason her body is heavily shown, it will capture peoples attention and no matter how much they try to adorn the article. her and her lifestyle is inspirational and we should change ourselves to be more like her. briefly mention other aspects of her life like her relationship but the attention is quickly turned back to her body.

impact on society- damaging as shes so young and doing so well for herself. the focus on her good body can make young impressionable girls feel worse about themselves.

3. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7750453/Orgasmic-Ariel-Winter-poses-storm-GIANT-onion-sculpture-exhibition.html

Orgasmic Ariel Winter oozes sex appeal in a lace bodysuit and glossy jeans...

message- buzz words like "orgasmic" and "sex appeal" are explicitly over sexualising her, making her more of an object of admiration, and shes over sexualised despite not wearing anything revealing compared to other articles about womens bodies.

impact on society- sends out an unhealthy message that women's bodies are for show, however she isnt wearing anything revealing appart from her cleavage, which is not something she can control necessarily, it makes women feel ashamed for looking like "sluts" or "whore" with the body they were given, womens bodies will always be womens bodies and will apparently alwatys be deemed as "too sexual".
