jean baudrillard suggested that "we live in a world where there is more and more information, and less and less meaning". evaluate the extent to which this post modernist statement applies to humans.

robots, post modern, comodity fetishism. not surreal but has the feel of an alternate reality. the synths coul dbe seen as style over substance.

binar oppositions, we know whats real because we know whats not real, hyper-reality blurs thuis and this is hy it gets increasingly harder to distinguish whats real. in humans "reality" seems so normal, society dosentlive in the sky, the world looks as it does know, further blurring the line between whats real and whats not. synths are a reflection of humanity allegoriical. gender performity.

introduction

  • defiition- post modernism and hyper-reality
  • argument- agree or dissagree with point/statement
  • context
post modernism is the shift from wat we perceived as normality to hyper-real representations of it in everyday life. hyper-realism is often presented in the form of imagery, or through media texts. It is defines as the representation of nothing or something not real, for example being presented a reality where everything is distorted but is supposed to be "real". i agree with the statement that in the post modernist era, products and reality is overwhelmed with information but lacks much depth or meaning. the set text humans is a modern show, released in 2015, in the highly technological era, at the time of release robots were growing in popularity and in intelligence, therefore humans can be seen as an allegorical metaphor for reality or even a portrayal of what our reality will become.

humans can be see as hypr-real as it presents elements of real life in a distorted and glorified ways. for example in the first episode, the breakfast scene when they al come downa nd the table is li out beautifuly like a banquet with a huge array of cereals, jams and juice. this is hyper-real as its unrealistic in real ife but we have learnt through media products that "this is what breakfats is supposed to belike" as joe said, this hsows that we are replacing the real with the "real" thats being shown to us, we begin to belive that our reality isnt good enought and we take on the false reality presented to us.
